netKar PRO Sound Engines

netKar PRO features 2 separate techniques to recreate the sounds from the engines.

The "cross fade" engine is a more traditional approach where different long sound samples, taken at different reference RPMs are mixed to recreate the instant situation. The cross fade approach allows better sound quality but less variations in sound due to different engine operating conditions, it also provide better compatibility for integrated sound cards.

The "scazzato" sound engine is a new approach based on "mini samples" for single piston explosion, heard from different part of the car. This mini samples are then put togheter at real time to match the engine instant operating situation.

latency

This value controls how much "forward" in time the Scazzato system is looking to recreate the engine sound. Low framerate or confused situation can generate "audio drops", when the system cannot update the scazzato playing buffer quickly enough. You can check for audio drops by looking in your "log.txt" file. If you see too many of them, increase your latency.
